Sutherland Leisure Centre

Sutherland Leisure Centre, located 25 kilometres south of Sydney's CBD, is one of the largest leisure facilities of its type in the Southern Hemisphere. The Centre consists of a 50-metre heated outdoor pool, an international size water polo pool and a multi-functional family fun and recreation area incorporating both a 50-metre and 25-metre indoor pool, spa and steamroom. The fitness area conducts more than 175 fitness classes per week which include group fitness, circuit, boxing, and aqua.

In addition to the general population, the Centre also caters for special populations including older adults, children, special needs groups and sporting teams.

The schools department conducts student fitness sessions for 20 schools and learn-to-swim classes for 28 schools. We also cater for pool parties which are held in our heated party pool.

The Swim School/Squad Department caters for 2,700 learn to swim and 1,500 swim squad members per week.

The Sutherland Leisure Centre is one of four high performance Centres that works in conjunction with the NSW Institute of Sport in the delivery of Elite squad programs.

The squad consists of many national and international athletes within the program including the likes of Ian Thorpe, Craig Stevens and Kirsten Thompson. Coaches are directly employed by the Centre include Tracey Menzies, member of the Australian Swim Team.

These programs are well supported by the Possum Corner Creche, Cafe, SLC Sports Retail Store and Bio-Mechanic Massage Therapy.

The approximate floor space measurements are as follows: total pool space 3530sq.m, cardio room 110sq.m, boxing room 78sq.m, general group fitness room 240sq.m, circuit room 200sq.m, weight room 175sq.m. Throughout the year the Centre serves in excess of 800,000 patrons. All of these features combine to create a centre of sporting excellence.
